General safety rules

The Seacraft Electronic Navigation Console (ENC) was developed as a navigation aid to support a diver under water.

The ENC’s calculations are based on the “dead reckoning” principle. This means that – when immersed – the ENC extrapolates the diver’s position by means of gyroscope, speed sensor and compass. Thus, it can never be as precise as a system, that receives permanent GPS position updates.

Please keep this in mind and observe the following:

Caution!
The ENC is NOT a fully automatic under water navigation system, but was designed as a navigation aid to support you under water.

Hence, never fully rely on the ENC alone, but use all your navigation skills, and plan your dive properly.

The ENC is no substitute for a proper training in underwater navigation.
